Today I am grateful for fear. Yeah, you read that right…FEAR. Fear tells me when something (or someone) is important enough to have feelings for. So often we try to avoid fear, back away from it, or resist it. But fear is just a signal. You choose whether or not to let it paralyze you or propel you forward.

Today I am grateful for massages. Healing touch is an important part of my self care plan. Sometimes you just need someone to knead you.

Today I am grateful for leftovers. After a big holiday meal that I only cook once a year, it’s nice to have some left to enjoy for a couple days. Mmmm, homemade pumpkin cheesecake!

Today I am grateful for my father. Our relationship certainly hasn’t been picture perfect over the years, but we have recently reconnected in a way that is so special for me. I am able to see him in new and different ways, accepting of him and his choices. I see that he is able to love me in his own way. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TODAY, DAD!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO MY U.S. PEEPS!!! Today I am grateful for traditions, both new and old. I love the traditions passed down to me from my family, like cooking the turkey coated in oil, salt, and paprika in a paper bag and saying what we’re grateful for out loud. I also love new traditions I’ve created along the way, like homemade pumpkin cheesecake and celebrating gratefulness for more than just one day.

Traditions! Football, trust in friends, hard work, giving thanks, and family meals. Just a few of the things cited in one of my favorite childhood Thanksgiving traditions: A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving. Watch as Charlie and the gang explore the true meaning of the holiday. Enjoy! And HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
